![]() So far, I've just used Calc Spreadsheet extensively and have played around with the others. I'm especially looking forward to playing around with Base Database, since I was an MS Access database developer for nearly 14 years. For instance, I've always used the thesaurus feature in MS Word, but it doesn't replace the word with the new choice, but LibreOffice does.Įvery feature is there as far as I can tell and some of them are even better. The Help references the default settings of the program on a system that is set to defaults. However, the MS thesaurus is more comprehensive than LibreOffice. Descriptions of colors, mouse actions, or other configurable items can be different for your program and system. ![]() There's only one negative I've found so far and that's their templates.īut, I just can't say enough good things about this program. They aren't as good as Microsoft, but I just transferred them from MS to LibreOffice (Shhh!). It’s really sad, because in almost every other aspects of the program it’s a great alternative to Big Bad Bill’s proprietary Office Pack.Cutting and pasting from one to the other is also done with ease. It result in a series of sync error messages, usually 3-5 at a time. Another thing I have noticed is that my Nextcloud app has a problem synchronizing my document with my server after I've saved the document using CTRL-S? That did not happen when I was using MS Word. Maybe it works better under Linux, I don’t know, but as a Windows 10 application it cannot be trusted. ![]() I’m retired now and are no longer required to use MS Office as part of my work and LibreOffice covers my need for this type of programs just fine but … LibreOffice Writer crashes constantly! Even if I just have a document open doing other thing around the house, it crashes regularly. After using Microsoft Word for years with my 365 Office subscription I canceled it for different reasons and shifted to use LibreOffice instead. ![]()
